Tales For Modern Listening

It’s been a difficult choice for the first selection of podcasts for this season of WhatPod. Indeed the choice of what types of podcasts to present was difficult too. I love fiction and stories and the choice to mix these with some of the best True Crime shows was a decision we arrived at after some discussion.

BBC Murmurs Podcast

Essentially, we felt that we should be led by the production qualities we liked and how compelling the experience was for the listener.

With 50 years experience of producing radio drama, its no surprise that the BBC features strongly in our initial selection. “Fake Heiress” and the “Murmurs” anthology both provide intrigue and excitement across their short runs.

True Crime and Fiction podcasts for this month:

BBC Fake Heiress Podcast
BBC Murmurs Podcast
Australian True Crime Podcast
The Lady Vanishes

Recent True Crime smash “The Lady Vanishes” by 7 News pushed the boundaries of investigative journalism, evolving the story during the production of the series and uncovering new information about a hitherto unsolved case.

Mature audiences definitely advised for the “Australian True Crime” podcast, from Acast. The show defines the crime genre in it long running series with tales from decades of murder, kidnapping and foul play of all kinds.
