WIRED Book Club: Lost in a Good Game

Why do we play video games? Can violent games cause real-world aggression? When does a gaming habit become an addiction?

Welcome to the WIRED Book Club. This month, we’ve been reading Lost in a Good Game, by Pete Etchells. It’s a book about the psychology of why we play games and what they do for us and, perhaps, to us, based on Etchells’ work as a psychologist focusing on video games research.

Here we discuss what we thought of the book, including what’s good about it, the things that could be better and the future of video games.
